o1. About me

A Creative at Heart.

With a story that's anything but ordinary.

Hi, I'm Lisa! Designer, creative thinker, and the person behind Lisa Cole Designs.

If here's one thing I've learned, it's that the path to finding what you love isn't always a straight line. Mine certainly wasn't. I’ve worn quite a few hats over the years, worked in some interesting places, and taken more than a few unexpected turns. But looking back, there's one thing that's always been consistent: I've never been particularly good at following the conventional route. And somehow, every road eventually led me back to creating.

o2. the backstory

The Scenic
Route.

Because apparently, I don't do straight lines.

My creative career started in Los Angeles, where I attended Vidal Sassoon and became a hairstylist. I worked my way through salons in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Venice Beach, building a clientele and discovering just how much I loved making people feel good about themselves. Along the way, a client referral led to something pretty exciting: being recognized as one of Allure magazine's Rising Stars. It was an incredible experience, and one that taught me a lot about creativity, relationships, and the power of a little word of mouth.

Eventually, life took me in a completely different direction. I traded the salon for real estate, spent time working in both commercial and residential markets, and even had a chapter that involved traveling around the country chasing hailstorms. Yes, actual hailstorms. It's a long story.

Every experience taught me something. How to connect with people. How to listen. How to sell an idea. How to adapt when things don't go according to plan.

But no matter what I was doing, I kept coming back to the same realization. I missed creating.

03. The dallas chapter

Eventually, life took me in a completely different direction. After four years of traveling around the country, I decided it was time to put down some roots. Dallas became home.

I spent four years living right in the heart of the city, working in real estate with Sotheby's, making new friends, and enjoying everything Dallas had to offer. The incredible restaurants, the fashion, the architecture, the energy of the city—I loved it all.

Looking back, I realize just how much those years influenced my creative style. I've always been drawn to beautiful spaces, interesting people, and things that feel a little different. Dallas only made that appreciation stronger. There's a reason my design aesthetic leans toward the editorial, the sophisticated, and the unexpected.

I loved the relationships I built and the experiences I had, but somewhere along the way, I realized something was still missing.

I missed creating.

An Unexpected
Plot Twist.

When Covid hit, I moved back to Wichita to by with my family and managed a large family restaurant. Between the events, customers, and day-to-day chaos, I also started managing the restaurant’s Squarespace website and social media.

And something clicked.

Here was a way to combine everything I’d always loved: design, technology, storytelling, problem-solving, and helping businesses make a memorable impression.

I started learning everything I could, taking courses, experimenting with code, and spending countless hours figuring out how to make websites look and function exactly the way I envisioned. What started as a curiosity became a new creative career. And Lisa Cole Designs was born.

o5. the philosophy

More Than a Pretty
Website.

I don’t believe a great website should look like everyone else’s. Your business has it’s own personality, it’s own story, and it’s own reasons for doing what it does. Your website should reflect that.

My approach combines thoughtful design and real-world business experience. I’ve worked directly with clients, built relationships and managed businesses, and learned that the smallest detail can make a big difference.

I love beautiful typography, unexpected color combinations, striking photography, and a little creative rule breaking. But I also care what happens when someone lands on your website.

Because a website should do more than look beautiful. It should work beautifully too.

06. Your vision

Your Vision My Expertise

Whether your an artist, a boutique business, or an established professional ready for something different, I’d love to help you create a website that feels unmistakably yours.
